21 Things to do when under 21 in Las Vegas
What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas. This phrase always makes me think of the wildest time possible. Bars, clubs, drinking, strippers, gambling, and erotic shows. Sin City and absolute shenanigans. What it doesn’t bring to mind- kids. Unless you’ve been before, you might assume there’s absolutely nothing for kids to do or that they weren’t even allowed in. It actually took me quite a few visits before I realized what a great option Vegas is for a family vacation.
Not to worry though, I’m going to save you the time and research for your next family trip to Vegas will all the great options below. If you also want options for when they’re with the grands, head over to Viva Las Vegas for all the recommendations you need for a kid-free weekend in the City of Lights.

21. See the Strip in Style
Few things are more iconic than the Las Vegas Strip’s four miles of ultimate glitz and glamor. What better way to soak in all the sights than seeing it all from your private limousine? Viator offers a few different options, but this one has specific stops that account for some of the best photo opportunities and it’s a great way to kick off your trip. For a lower cost option, you can also book a limo at an hourly rate and plan in advance where you want to stop.
20. Focus on Fun at the Fun Dungeon
Fun Dungeon at the Excalibur Hotel is world-famous for its more than 200 games including classic carnival games, options for the little ones, sports games, and ticket redemption for prizes. This is a great place to play alongside your kiddos and show off your skills at vintage and newer arcade games.
19. Float your Cares Away on a Gondola Ride
Gondola Rides at the Venetian are not just a romantic activity for adults, they are also a great way to slow down a busy sightseeing trip with the kiddos and enjoy floating beneath bridges, beside cafes, under balconies, all while coasting down the Grand Canal.
18. Experience 360 Views on the LINQ
The High Roller Observation Wheel is a 30-minute experience that’s totally worth the cost and hype. You’ll be soaring 550 feet above the Las Vegas Strip and these views bring all the oohs and ahhs. The cabins are spacious, and kiddos can roam about to take it all in. There are drink options available for Mom and Dad. While you’re in the area, be sure to check out the Linq Promenade. There are tons of shops and restaurants as well.

17. Feed Your Need for Speed
This one is for the speed seekers out there. K1 Speed indoor go-karting is a great option rain or shine. The karts are all electric which means you don’t have to suffer through the smell of gasoline, and they are much quieter. The minimum height requirement is 48″ and they don’t allow adults to race against kids.
16. Welcome your Wild Side at Springs Preserve
Springs Preserve in Las Vegas features 180 acres of scenery, wildlife, exhibits, and attractions. You can spend a few hours exploring the museum and exhibits or you can spend the entire day visiting animal habitats, art exhibits, the botanical gardens and so much more. The M&M Store in Las Vegas is massive. There are four levels and 28,000 square feet of iconic candy goodness. Guests can design their own one-of-a-kind M&M or take photos at one of the various photo ops throughout the location.
14. Take in Views and Thrills at the Strat
The Skypod at the Strat Hotel is home to the largest freestanding observation tower in the United States. In addition to taking in some of the best views of the strip and Las Vegas overall, you can also experience what has been voted one of the Best Las Vegas Thrill Rides.

13. Play a round at Topgolf
Topgolf is a high-tech golf game that's great for all ages. They have special themed games and specific levels dedicated to smaller players. You score points by hitting micro chipped golf balls at targets in the outfield. The closer your ball gets to the bullseye, the more points you score with bonus points added if the target is further away. In addition to the games, there is a full bar, food menu, and sports TVs.
12. Train to be a Hero at Avenger Station
I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not big on the whole superhero thing. I haven’t seen all the Marvel movies and if you gave me a pop quiz, I probably wouldn’t do so awesome. That said, the Avenger Station was a ton of fun even for non-superfans. The displays were really fascinating, and the kids were very engaged with their training. It was a great afternoon and I’d definitely do it again.
11. See all the Sea Creatures
The Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay is a wonderful way to spend a quiet afternoon. Kiddos will ooh and ahh at the more than 2000 animals the aquarium has to view. There is a really cool tunnel of fish that makes a great photo op. You can also take advantage of the option to feed the sharks or stingrays for an additional fee.
10. Tour the Grand Canyon
Fair warning- I am a two-for-one traveler. What does that mean? It means if I am visiting one location and it happens to be close to another, I will try and see both. The Canyon Tours makes this easy with a day trip from your Vegas Hotel to the Grand Canyon. If you’re in Vegas for at least 5 days, this is definitely worth doing.

9. Ride around the Big Apple
The Big Apple Coaster is a very popular option for your bigger kids. This coaster boasts being the world’s first coaster to feature a 180-degree “heartline” twist and dive maneuver and 203 ft drop. You have to be at least 54” to ride. Advance reservations are required, and this is done to manage wait times.
8. Visit your Favorite Celebrities
The Madame Tussauds Las Vegas was the first location built in the United States. This world-famous wax museum houses life-size wax figures of your favorite athletes, musicians, movie stars, celebrities, and superheroes. During your visit you can pose alongside the figures and be featured in your own music video.
7. Explore Educational Exhibits at Discovery Children’s Museum

Best of all, you don’t have to be a hotel guest to check out this ultimate pool day. Reservations can be made by non-hotel guests on their website.
5. Feast like Kings at Excalibur
Dinner and theater shows are another must-do Las Vegas experience. I’m not sure you can really say you’ve been to Vegas if you didn’t see a show. Recommended by 96% of visitors on Tripadvisor, Tournament of Kings is a family-friendly feast that you don’t want to miss.
4. Dance with Jabbawockeez
I don’t know about your kids but one thing my kids can never seem to get enough of is DANCE. They are constantly tapping their little toes or shaking their hips in the grocery store or just about anywhere that happens to be playing music. Something they loved on our trip to Vegas was the Jabbawockeez show. I did have to put them in gymnastics to regulate the flipping and spinning, but it was totally worth it.

3. Enjoy the Seasonal Art Exhibit at the Conservatory
This is one of my favorite Vegas activities with or without the kids. I never come to Vegas without swinging by the Bellagio Conservatory. These exhibits are larger than life and not only are they aesthetically pleasing, they also smell amazing. It’s so impressive how the artists are able to bring themes to life. While you are here, be sure to also swing by the Bellagio Patisserie to watch the chocolate move through the glass fountain.
2. Clown around at Circus Circus
The AdventureDome at Circus Circus is a must-do with the kiddos in Vegas. There are thrill rides or starter coasters appropriate for all ages. Classic carnival games like darts, basketball, balloon bust, and more. My personal favorite is the free clown shows. You can also play a round of miniature golf or scale the indoor rock-climbing wall. That’s another bonus I don’t want to forget to mention. All of these great activities are indoors and air-conditioned, which if you’re in Vegas during the summer with kids makes for a pretty cool day.
1. Bellagio Fountain Show
The Fountain Show at the Bellagio has been featured in countless tv shows and movies. This spectacular water show is an absolute Vegas highlight for all ages. Best of all, it’s free.
