Travel and Money

Do you remember the first trip you planned as an adult? How did it go? Well I hope it was a better experience than my first trip. The first trip I planned as an adult was a cruise to the Bahamas. I had just graduated from college and asked my parents as a gift to send me on a cruise. I was so excited and had a great time!
Until I got back and had to face the bill.
Having never cruised before, I didn't plan for anything beyond the cruise cost and flight. Everything I gleefully said yes to on the trip, came at a price later on. Drinks, excursions, upgrades, games and gratuities. My trip ended with hundreds of dollars of debt and overdraft fees.

I learned a big lesson that day about travel and money. The next trip I planned included a budget that I've tweaked and perfected over years of trial and error. My early mistake is now a tool you can use to save time and money on your travel plans.
